  2. The Cody Caples- I think that a new book would be a good idea. People all over America want to read one. Since Salinger is dead it should be up to his kids to share his work and not his lawyers. A movie should also be made if the book is as great as people say it is.

    1. I agree Cody! It definitely should be up to the kids and not the lawyers . :D

    2. I agree, his family should have the first say in what happens!

    3. I agree. Lawyers should have no say at this point

  3. JD Salinger
I think that a new Salinger book would be awesome! He got so much feed back and fame from Catcher in the Rye, that people would love to read another one of his books. I think this time around it wouldn't be looked at as such a bad big as Cather in the Rye was. I also think that if they had the rights to make a movie, it would be a huge success and people would be dying to see it...:)

  4. I think that making a Catcher in the Rye movie would please a lot of Salinger fans, and that by publishing his line of work we could add them to a new school curriculum and children can experience more of his brilliant work. They should definently try to get the rights to his work.

  5. Many people are very interested in JD Salingers work. He is a really good writer, and all his books are a hit. Since there is word that JD Salinger has more books that aren't released, people would go crazy to hear that it was going to be published. I think that it would be successful for them to publish his work, but it will also be going against what JD wanted, which may upset his family or close friends.

    1. Yes since it is his hard work they should respect his obvious desires to keep it to himself. I really understand this point of view!

  6. If there was more Salinger work found it would have a huge impact on the literary world.I'm sure it would include some awesome books that would become very famous. If there was a movie made based on Catcher in the Rye it would be great and if it is made just like the book it would become a huge hit, but I think it's important to respect Salinger's wishes and respect him as a writer and person and do what he wishes.

  7. I think that a new book from him would be a big deal to some people. In my opinion people are so fascinated with him because he didn't let anyone know much about him. People seem to make a big deal over catcher in the rye and so far it seems to be a very intersting and good book. I would like to see if he wrote a book that describes his life more because there is so much we don't know. If a new book was released I can see kids having to read it in school and learning about how big of a deal it is.

  8. From the sounds of it, a new Salinger book would be completely religious based. So I can't say that I'd actually want to read that. But if it was another book like Catcher In The Rye, possibly a sequel, I'd definitely read it. As for the movie, not only would I want to watch Catcher In The Rye, but possibly a movie about Salinger's life. It sounds like it would make for an interesting picture. One with conspiracy, heartbreak, and a tragic endng. Who doesn't love those! :D

  9. I believe that if more of his works were published, it would have a huge impact on the literacy world. He was a huge deal. Even with the fact that he didn't get too much publicity, he is still very well known because of his great works. Catcher in the Rye received a lot of controversy, yet still is a well analyzed book in schools. I feel like if more of his works were published, more of his books would be studied in school.

  11. I haven't read all of the "Catcher in the Rye" so I can't say for sure how much of an impact new J.D. Salinger literature would do for me but it seems like it would influence a lot of people. So far I believe it would make a very good movie (depending on the director) and i'm sure more of his stories would be nice to have around. So far I like the book so I don't see why I wouldn't like more novels plus a movie.

  13. I think that releasing his new work would have a impact on american society but in a bad way. Maybe these new works wouldnt live up to his standards. Like a lot of hype for nothing. Then people would feel let down by Salinger.

  14. If another one of his book was published, the literary world would just go crazy. He was very popular and still is. There is rumor that he has multiple works ready for publication and if one of those works is a sequel to Catcher in The Rye, then his popularity would soar higher than it was before.

    1. I agree but I don't believe that they will ever be published. It was against his wishes clearly if he didn't already have it done. His family and others should respect that.

  15. I think making a movie out of this would be good. Although Salinger did not want this i think now that he has passed away, it should be up to the family. The movie would be very good and would make a lot of fans happy. On top of the fans being happy, there would be many good directors that would love to make this film. It all would come down to what the family would want though.

i think that taking one of the books never published and putting it out for people now, would be a great idea. it would bring people joy and supply money for those who have the books he never got published. however, i think that it's up to them.

  17. I think releasing his new work would be great because people enjoy his stuff. Some people might be angry because J.D. wouldn't want this, but most of the people would want this new stuff out. I think someone should make "The Catcher in the Rye" into a movie.

  18. If Salinger published a new book I'm sure it would be a hit! People seem to love his work and would be so excited to read more. And if they did decide to make a movie of one of his books im sure so many people would go to see it. Catcher in the Rye would be good for that, or even one about Salinger's life, i'd probably be interested in seeing that!

  19. I believe that if we were able to publish more of J.D. Salinger's books, it would possible change the literacy world. Uncovering things that many people might not know. The publishing of these books may also cause controversy with peoples beliefs etc. Even though, it has been taught in many schools.

  20. J.D. Salingers writing intrigues people so i believe many people would be interested in more. As to his book becoming a movie it will probably be two sided like the book either you love it or hate it. I also think we should respect his wishes and leave the ideas alone.

  21. I think Catcher in the Rye sets a good standard for JD. Salinger as a writer and for his possible future books to come. He changed American Literature in many aspects. So making a movie out of "Catcher in the Rye", or releasing sequels to his books, would definitely be an important milestone for the Literary Community.

  22. I think if more of J.D. Salingers work was published, we would learn more about him in class and read more of his work. Although some people may not like for it to be published because he didn't want it, I think it would do more good than harm.
